Community KnowledgeKeeper

Meaningful consultation is of the upmost importance to the Fort McMurray 468 First Nation and thus we have committed to utilizing the Community Knowledge Keeper (CKK) program to review all projects occurring on our traditional territory.

CKK is a consultation database where new projects and consultations are entered electronically to better enable the FMFN468-IGRC to determine how each project will impact the Community and its treaty rights. Each project’s details are entered into a web-based form, along with Shapefiles and other supporting media, so that the IGRC can overlay other data. Examples of our data are Community members trap lines, traditional use sites, FMFN468 cultural preservation zones, as well as other relevant information, such as Federal and Provincial caribou protection zones, protected areas (both proposed and existing) and any other valuable information that will help us determine impacts of each project to the Community.

We request that companies no longer provide maps and letters notifying the FMFN468-IGRC of their proposed or pending projects, but rather, that these be entered directly into the CKK system for review by FMFN468-IGRC. As such, letters and maps, while still useful, will not be considered adequate submissions to initiate consultation.

All current IGRC Contributors have received their log-in information and are welcome to click on the Log In button on the top right corner of this page to load project data.

If you are not an IGRC Contributor, you will not have access to the system and will need to contact Petrina Fudge at (petrina.fudge@igrc468.com) to request a scope and budget detailing the costs associated with reviewing your consultation. Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Petrina.

Sincerely,

Lorne Wiltzen, Director FMFN468 IGRC
